About Jimmy Wheeler

Bio

Jimmy Wheeler is an international RYT-500 yoga teacher, retreat leader, and movement educator passionate about guiding students back to their strength, presence, and sense of purpose both on the mat and in daily life. With a foundation in Ashtanga short form and advanced training under Jonah Kest in the Seven Doorways lineage, Jimmy weaves tradition with a fresh, creative, and invigorating style that meets students where they are.

Since 2019, Jimmy has earned a reputation for inventive sequencing and energizing arm balances, handstands, and inversions. His classes are a vibrant fusion of movement, where classic Ashtanga postures meet modern mobility, functional strength, breathwork, and deep somatic awareness. This unique blend invites students to experience both athletic challenge and mindful presence, building resilience in the body and clarity in the mind.

Based in Bozeman, Montana, Jimmy draws inspiration from the wild beauty of mountains, rivers, and the vast Western sky. In every class, he invites students to dance along the edge of effort and surrender, intentionally moving toward the place where growth, healing, and self-discovery take root.

Whether leading retreats, workshops, or online programs, Jimmy’s mission is clear: to guide students back to themselves, inspire intentional movement, and empower lives filled with clarity, strength, and freedom.

When he is not teaching, Jimmy can be found wandering the wilds of Montana, sharing yoga across the globe, or adventuring with his son, Hawkins, always striving to embody the presence and vitality he inspires in his students.

“Such an incredible weekend of movement, learning + sharing as a community. Jimmy is an amazing teacher, and he masterfully covered so many relevant topics in the most approachable way! The breath work + yin class was transformative, and the connections made were so meaningful. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!”
